Africa (Part 2) 01/10/2011

Photos of me….
As you would know I was recently on a tour to see the mountain gorillas.  A friend that I met on the tour, Marissa, took this photo and sent it to me with the following words.  Perhaps they are a bit of an insight as to how I am when I travel.
Marissa’s words
This picture I took of you at Lake Mburo.  You were sitting on a bench under the shade of a large tree peacefully overlooking the scene ahead of you.  I simply watched you from afar for a moment and took this picture.  I think the picture captures a lot about you.  Firstly, it captures one of the quiet moments you always seemed to find, where it seemed as if your mind was a million years away yet still so present in the moment surrounding you.  There’s also something about it that expresses the child like wonder with which you experience the world; whether that is due to the foetal position, the size of you compared with the tree towing above you or just the fact that I know you, I do not know for sure.

The following are some other photos of me from my time here in Africa
